#245 Alicia Hinze

Jennifer and Alicia have been in the restaurant and culinary arts for many years and separately dreamed of one day having their very own place. Alicia attended Le Cordon Bleu’s Patisserie and Baking program and worked for many celebrated local companies, and even appeared on The Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. Jennifer worked on the floor and behind the scenes of many well-known Twin Cities restaurants and when Alicia decided it was time to open her own bakery a family member referred her to Jennifer. It was during that meeting they shared their vision of food and family and knew it would connect them forever. It was then The Buttered Tin was born. Since Jen and Alicia themselves are linked by family it only makes sense that they wanted to create a place where family and friends can gather. They believe surrounding yourself with the people you love while enjoying a homemade meal is what life is all about. They believe food brings us together, bonds us, and is how memories are made. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, what you do, how much you make — we all celebrate, commiserate, and bond over a shared meal or culinary experience.
